DataChambers Announces Cost-Effective Business Continuity Service for Small-to-Medium-sized Companies
February 16, 2005
DataChambers, a Triad-based business continuity, data center and managed services provider, today announced a new service called RestorIT. The new service is designed to help smaller companies -- those with 3 to 150 employees -- stay up and running in the event of a disaster.
"Most of these companies do not realize how affordable business continuity services are. Instead of spending thousands of dollars developing, building, equipping, and staffing their own data backup centers, RestorIT allows DataChambers to provide all these services for under $7.00 per day,” said Lawrence Boening, CTO of DataChambers. “With a cost this low, most companies can’t afford not to invest in business continuity and disaster recovery services."
For example, in 2002, $106 billion in revenue was lost due to natural disasters or weather-related conditions. Of the companies that experience such failures, 94 percent go out of business within two years of the disaster. The six percent that survive made it because they had some sort of business continuity service in place, such as RestorIT.
"RestorIT combines all the critical elements a small-to-medium-sized business would need to insure its ability to recover from a disaster or systems failure. It is a complete service ‘package’ that provides: remote electronic backup and data storage, standby servers, workforce continuity seating, and device monitoring," said Boening.
DataChambers CEO Nicholas Kottyan added, “We created RestorIT after receiving several requests from companies throughout the Southeast for a cost effective, easy-to-implement business continuity solution package.” In addition to RestorIT, DataChambers also offers a complete suite of business continuity and disaster recovery services for large multi-location companies.
Kottyan stated that no other organization in the Southeast offers a product package like RestorIT.
